this old cat-house

I just found these pics of our summer vacation. It was so lovely in Elora that I had to share them. Unfortunately, the theme of the holiday was to cycle around to all the old micro breweries in the towns, so these are the only pictures that really came out clearly!

And a pre-Christmas picture of my purple tree. It actually seems to look blue in the picture, but the Hibiscus is decorated with a bunch of purple ornaments that my mum said were Gram's (although I began to wonder if she was just telling me that everything was Gram's to get it out of her house. This is me: Oh sure, I'll take that crepe paper if it was Gram's!)

And here is Ian with his new best friend...playing in the Cat Throne. Between this and the belly-dancing, it's amazing that her Daddy lets her come visit us!

And what old cat house blog would be complete without a few pictures of our family? Here is Tasha, who still thinks she's small, and Tasha teaching Plum how to take a catnap.

during our fall get-a-way I was shamed into posting more pictures by my dearest friend LH. We talked a lot about our gardens on that trip, so here are some pics from our backyard. As you can see, we still have a long way to go!

However, here is a picture of our giant leek harvest. We had so many! And beside our bathtub water garden you can see our friend Kevin. Kevin started out as a skinny groundhog, but then he discovered all the daisies we had growing. Special thanks to my mum for shoveling dirt and compost into one of his ground holes and to my dad for using a manly wilderness trick at Kevin's other ground hole. We wait to see if he dare return next year.
