this old cat-house

We have been working very hard on our back yard this year, since all fall, winter and spring we used the yard as a garbage dump.

Here is a little water garden with an iris already in bloom:

our concrete pad (formerly a VERY rickety shed) with the jetson's patio set and our newly erected privacy fence:

there is a shot of another lost and found ladder which is now a part of our decor:
Turquoise and Purple!
ian had to remove one of the shed doors for another new fence. we needed to build something to keep the darling doggy in. pictures to follow :)

Welcome Layla!

Here are some pictures of the newest addition to the old-cat-house, who actually may force us to re-name our house, and as such, our blog.
Layla is 4 years old, and is a Shepherd-Bull Terrier. She came from Ohio in early May, where she was suspected to be used for breeding puppies.

She is very sweet, and hardly barks at all, but has MAJOR separation anxiety. She loves peanut butter but doesn't seem to care for any toys yet, although she is being thoroughly spoiled and has many toy options to choose from.

When she arrived at our home she was very stinky. Ian gave her a bath single handedly, and she seemed to be cooperative.
Depending on which one of us you ask, there is definitely a different version to the story of how she came to be our doggy...however all the dog-haters in the family have taken quite a liking to her...including my dad!
We are starting to love her very much, and even the cats are tolerating her.
