this old cat-house

Bathroom renovations continue. Usually I am more than happy to pick up a hammer at the end of the day and knock walls down or tear tiles up (something to do with my job perhaps?!) but this week I have been covering 4 caseloads plus my own so all these updates are 100% Ian's work. Evidently I am not too tired to take pictures while Ian is working though!

But, first... an update on the cutest member of our household, whose new hobby is watching VERY CLOSELY while the dishes are loaded...
BAD CAT!
Old Window with major drafts:
New window:
Ian pulling up tile:
New bamboo floor:

First there was a shower:
Then exposed studs (not the exciting kind):
Then drywall:

What will happen to this wall next? This is still up for discussion. Will it be tiled top to bottom, or will it be covered in 70's-mod wood panelling?

We have already purchased the sink. but have nothing to put it on yet. It came with a bamboo vanity, but Ian has plans to build a floating counter top.

Imagine my surprise to learn that you are not the "cutest" member of the family - huh. I think if you just let Finn lick the dishes you could save energy and cleaning supplies as well as the cost of the additional cat food required to feed her. Think that through!

The bathroom is looking fab-u-less already. Will you not have a shower in there now? I love the bamboo floors, can they get wet?

The studs (both construction and human) look sturdy and will serve you well in the long run.

Looking forward to seeing more updates.

And, don't worry about not being able to contribute physical labour due to overwork, that is why you have a sister.

Love to all,
Auntie
